[Photos] As Aleppo falls, people around the world protest against the Syrian regime

SULAIMANI – While this week the United Nations voiced deep concern about reports it had received of Syrian soldiers and allied Iraqi fighters summarily shooting dead 82 people in recaptured east Aleppo districts,  people around the world have been protesting against the Syrian Regime and Russia, and in solidarity with civilians that remain trapped in the city.

An estimated 50,000 – 100,000 civilians remain besieged in a small rebel-held enclave of eastern Aleppo.

Despite talks of a ceasefire and a humanitarian corridor to help get the besieged out of the war-torn city, air strikes on eastern Aleppo continued on Wednesday (December 14) after an agreement meant to halt fighting between government forces and rebels stalled.
