[Photos] Life in Jordan's Zaatari Camp

ZAATARI – Straddling the Syria-Jordan border, Zaatari refugee camp has been transformed from tented encampment into mini city. First opened in July 2012, many of its 80,000 residents – fleeing war and persecution in neighboring Syria – have lived in the camp since the first few months of its opening.

After four years, the camp’s resourceful residents have opened barber shops, internet cafes, shisha houses and markets, carving out a new life for themselves on the Jordanian border.
